Name: Tefo M. Mokhine
Current: B.Sc. Mining Engineering (Penultimate)
Institution: University of the Witwatersrand (Wits)

Part Time: Entrepreneurial Generator Programme (Wits Business School)

I matriculated in 2010 with distinctions in Maths & Science. After failing to secure a space at the University of Pretoria (a university which I was awarded a bursary to study Civil Engineering) - I went to Ukuqonda University Preparedness to further enhance my capabilities in Maths and Science. In 2012, I signed a bursary contract with Lonmin Platinum to pursue Mining Engineering. As per my bursary requirement, I had to do a year-long Experiential Learning wherein I got the exposure to the mine operations and procedures, of which I did in the Marikana operations. I then progressed to start with my studies at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2013 where I am still studying. One of my major low points in life was failing in my studies, more so failing two of the Third year courses twice. Nonetheless, I remain eager, confident and now more than ever, committed to obtaining my degree in Mining Engineering.

Future Prospects
After graduation, I am looking to gain some experience working as a Mining Engineer, to solidify my degree and then move into the financial services sector to work as an Investment Banker before officially focusing on business. My vision is to build one of the best conglomerates that will have interests in mining and minerals resources, informal markets and technology. Amongst my Big Hairy and Audacious Goals (vision), is that of becoming the President of the Republic of South Africa.

What do I do in my spare time?

I am passionate about learning, and anytime I get the opportunity to learn something I crab it. I read a lot, mostly books and magazines on personal development, entrepreneurship, leadership and companies.
Other than that, you will find me in the field jogging if not in a court playing tennis.
Or you will find me to a good company of friends and acquaintances, having conversations about the current affairs- in a relaxed environment with some good music in the background.
